Bostic coached basketball and Moore coached Volleyball.
She might be taking over the position but I assure you she will never "replace" anyone. Her coaching credentials won't hold a candle to Coach Godsey, but she'll be another pawn of the Gate City administration and School Board so she'll fit right in. I'm glad Godsey isn't at GC anymore though that means he can come up here to Northern Virginia to a AAA school and get the respect he deserves. I know that he's been contacted by one of the largest schools in the state about coaching there...

Okay Queen Vic. So if all the girls end up loving Kelly, and she takes them to 3 state titles, she never "replaces" Godsey. Yeah right. GC will see a drop in their girls program after this season. They do lose a lot of talent, but have some good athletes coming up. It definitely will not be a famine in GC girls athletics.

What do you even know about Kelly Smith then? And if you are from NoVa, what does it matter to you? Coach Smith took over a program 5 years ago that no one cared about and brought some respectability back to it. And with the girls coming up in that program, things will continue to look up for PV. I hate how Godsey has been treated. I don't agree with it, it is not right. But to say that Kelly can't do things with that program is ridiculious.
Kelly was a winner, is a winner, and always will be a winner. She knows what it takes to win and has successfully transferred that to her coaching philosophy. If she has the same talent to work with that Godsey had, she'll excell as a coach at GC. The only thing that bothers me is that she will not be at RC.
I agree UT1...hated to see her go to PV but I really hate to see her go to GC. I'd like to see her coach at the Cove for, oh let's say, the rest of her career and send their kids there to play too.

Anybody, anywhere can be replaced and in this case it wont be too hard. I'd say take the job and get outta here!!!!

Respecctfully Godsey is not a God..... seems like he is lifted up to be the greatest coach ever. I am not saying anything about his coaching credentials.By the way the coach does not play in any games... they do not shoot the ball or play defense.. they do not hit the ball or play defense... so let us begin to give the girl athletes a little more credit on the wins. I hope he does get another coaching position if that is what he desires.
